MIDI and the Virtual Pipe Organ
Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 7:00 pm -9:00 pm
Randall Krum, presenter

Have you ever hoped to play one of the great organs built by Arp Schnitger, Gottfried Silbermann or Aristide Cavaillé-Coll? Consider the wonders of commanding an English cathedral organ or a fine, historic or state-of-the-art Swedish, Dutch or Polish instrument. This meeting will give you the opportunity to do just that virtually.  We will explore the possibilities of connecting pipe organs or digital organs to a fairly robust computer running Hauptwerk or Grand Orgue software. The presentation will reveal many of the mysteries of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) and provide resources to help attendees to begin or broaden their virtual organ experience.
