Please arrive early for the Richard Elliott concert. The Orange County Administration Parking Garage has 882 spots. There is an event at Judson’s Live and Steinmetz Hall at 6.00pm. Those concertgoers will already beat our guests since it has a 6.00pm start time. Because an overflow crowd is expected we are opening the doors at FUMC at 6:15pm. The sanctuary seats 986 people. We are adding 250+ chairs. The way the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Central Florida is promoting this concert we are truly expecting and preparing for an overflow crowd. Street parking after 6:00pm is free. With the two events at Dr. Phillips Center at 6:00pm the Orange County garage will already have reduced availability. There is additional parking in the City Commons Garage behind City Hall, 460 Boone Avenue. That has 2219 spaces. There is an event in the Pugh Theater at 7:30pm and Disney Theater at 8:00pm but our guests will already be parked by 7:15pm
Wanting to give deference to our CFAGO members attending they will be allowed to sit in the “Priority” seating zone in the first seven rows of the sanctuary. This is excellent seating with a view of the console positioned center stage. Also the sound is better compared to being at the rear of the sanctuary or in the balcony. If you plan to attend, please send an email to Kai Bailey, OLLMUSICMAN@AOL.COM, with CFAGO SEATING REQUEST in the subject field. Give your name and total number in your party counting yourself as “one”. Your name will be on an alphabetized list which the ushers will have at the front of the sanctuary. This zone is still open seating so please arrive early for better selection. The executives of the LDS Administration for Central Florida are also granted seating in this zone. So, obviously, the earlier the better. State AGO member and your name to the usher.
News of this concert has already been sent to over 45,000+ members of the LDS community in Central Florida. We’ve already heard of carpooling coming from St. Pete and the Bay Area. It is posted on 38 social media channels plus numerous other media contacts. I know Matthew Palm, arts editor for the Orlando Sentinel. He has asked for Dr. Elliott’s phone number to do a telephone interview for making his feature story of this event more interesting. There will also be one or two interviews with a couple of minutes of playing at the console by local TV stations for the noon and early-evening newscasts.
Don’t let these numbers keep you from attending. Richard Elliot is a highly-acclaimed, world-class organist. He is widely considered one of the finest organists in our generation. Just be aware that an overflow crowd is expected. Doors open at 6:15pm. Come early for easier parking and seat selection.
Lööking forward to seeing you there.
